Flood Warning
Issued: 6:13 PM EST Feb. 23, 2018 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Scioto River at Circleville
* until further notice.
* At 5 PM the stage was 15.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 15 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* The river will rise to near 21.7 feet by early Monday afternoon.The
river will then begin falling, but remain above flood stage for the
next 5 days.
* At stages near 21.0 feet, serious flooding occurs west of Circleville
along mill and canal roads, as well as island Road and State Route
762. Backwater flooding can be expected near big Darby Creek, while
Cooks creek Golf course is flooded.

Areal Flood Watch

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, including the
following areas, in Indiana, Dearborn, Fayette in, Franklin
in, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union in, and Wayne. In
Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant,
Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson. In Ohio,
Adams, Brown, Butler, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Fairfield,
Fayette OH, Franklin OH, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Hocking,
Licking, Madison, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross,
Scioto, and Warren.

* Through Sunday morning

* more rainfall is expected, with the potential for heavy
rainfall at times between Saturday morning and Sunday morning.
Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches will be possible
through Sunday morning.

* Excessive rainfall will cause local rivers, creeks, and
streams to rise. Those near streams and rivers should be
especially cautious as streams and rivers can rise quickly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

People in the watch area, especially those living in areas prone
to flooding, should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop. Monitor the latest forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings.
