... Freeze warning remains in effect from midnight tonight to 9 am
EDT Thursday...

* location... the Hudson River valley from the Poughkeepsie area
north through the capital district including the Saratoga and
Glens Falls areas, and for Washington and southern Litchfield
counties.

* Temperatures... in the upper 20s to lower 30s.

* Timing... late tonight through mid Thursday morning.

* Impacts... kill crops and other sensitive vegetation bringing
an end to the growing season.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.

... Strong gusty winds this evening across eastern New York...

Strong west to northwest winds will occur in the wake of a cold
front across the southern Adirondacks, Lake George Saratoga
region, Mohawk Valley, capital region, eastern Catskills,
Taconics, helderbergs, and the Mid Hudson valley prior to
midnight. Wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph are possible, which may
bring down a few tree limbs, small trees or produce isolated
power outages. The winds will slightly subside after midnight.
