Heat Advisory
Issued: 12:59 AM PDT Jul. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect from 11 am this morning to
11 PM PDT this evening...

* temperature... upper 90s to low 100s in valley locations below
6000 feet Wednesday, with overnight lows in the middle 60s to
near 70.

* Impacts... the combination of hot afternoon and warm nighttime
temperatures will increase the risk of heat related illness
across portions of central and northern Nevada.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency - call 911.
