The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
western Torrance County in central New Mexico...

* until 400 PM MDT.

* At 203 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms over western Torrance County. This will cause Arroyo
and small stream flooding in the advisory area, including the
Torreon draw, the Arroyo del Cuervo, Cerrito del Llano, and Punta
de Agua surrounding New Mexico State Route 55.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Torreon, Tajique and Manzano.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

The heavy rainfall and slow movement of these storms may result in
flooding of Road intersections and low lying areas. Waters may begin
to run in normally dry arroyos.

until 245 PM MDT...

At 220 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Madrid, or 23 miles south of Santa Fe, moving east at 5 mph.

Penny size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Galisteo and Madrid.

Accumulations of small hail on roads can create very slick and
hazardous driving conditions.

Heavy rains will cause water to pond on roads and in low spots. Fast
running water will quickly fill arroyos and ditches.
