The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Wyandotte County in northeastern Kansas...
Miami County in east central Kansas...
Linn County in east central Kansas...
southern Leavenworth County in northeastern Kansas...
Johnson County in east central Kansas...
Cass County in west central Missouri...
Bates County in west central Missouri...
Clay County in west central Missouri...
southeastern Platte County in west central Missouri...
Jackson County in west central Missouri...

* until 1000 am CDT Saturday.

* At 1258 am CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding over
several roadways where one to two inches of rain have fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee's Summit,
Shawnee, Blue Springs, Lenexa, Leawood, Raytown, Liberty,
Gladstone, Grandview, Belton, Prairie Village, Raymore, Gardner,
Grain Valley, Lansing and Excelsior Springs.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Fishing River near Mosby.
* Until Sunday morning.
* At 11:53 PM Friday the stage was 10.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by after midnight this morning
and continue to rise to near 25.2 feet by early this morning. The
river will fall below flood stage by late this morning.
* At 27.0 feet... east Mosby Road is flooded. All roads into or out of
Mosby are under water and impassable.
* At 26.0 feet... 6th street is flooded. East Mosby Road is the only
passable Road into or out of town.
* At 25.0 feet... both Pony express Road north of the city and 3rd
street on the south side of Mosby are flooded. 6th street and east
Mosby Road are the only passable roads into or out of town.
* At 18.0 feet... fields near Mosby flood and a low-water crossing on
west Road is impassable.

* Until Tuesday June 04.
* At 7:15 am Friday the stage was 27.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 30.6 feet by
Sunday evening then begin falling.
* At 30.0 feet... flooding is likely at the parking lot near homers
Landing located below The Fort Osage historical site.
* At 22.0 feet... low-lying rural areas along the river and outside of
levee protection flood.

the Missouri River at Kansas City.
* From Saturday evening to Tuesday afternoon.
* At 9:30 PM Friday the stage was 28.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Saturday before midnight and
continue to rise to near 33.4 feet by early Sunday afternoon. The
river will fall below flood stage by Monday afternoon.
* At 32.0 feet... minor flooding outside of levees occurs.

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through Sunday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of Kansas and Missouri, including the following
areas, in Kansas, Atchison KS, Doniphan, Johnson KS,
Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami, and Wyandotte. In Missouri,
Adair, Andrew, Atchison MO, Bates, Buchanan, Caldwell,
Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, De Kalb, Gentry,
Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Jackson, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Linn
MO, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte, Putnam, ray,
Schuyler, Sullivan, and Worth.

* Through Sunday morning

* ongoing rain showers and thunderstorms will taper off Saturday
morning before additional storm development is possible by the
late afternoon and evening hours. An additional one to two
inches of rainfall are expected through Sunday morning, with
locally higher amounts possible. These storms will produce heavy
rainfall over areas that are already saturated from recent
storms.

* Low-lying and flood-prone areas will be most susceptible to
the dangers of flash flooding. Areas near rivers, creeks, and
streams will likely become flooded during and immediately
after heavy rainfall. Be very careful if driving at night as
flood water are very hard to see.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

should flash flood warnings be issued.
