The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
western Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas...

* until 300 am CDT Friday

* at 303 PM CDT, heavy rainfall from Wednesday was causing flooding
along Lightning Creek. Other creek and streams will likely remain
elevated for the rest of today and tonight due to additional water
flowing down the Neosho river.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
susceptible to the dangers of flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
