The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the White River near Nora.
* From Saturday morning to Sunday evening.
* At 1:00 PM Thursday the stage was 5.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Saturday morning and continue
to rise to near 11.7 feet by Saturday evening. It will fall below
flood stage by Sunday morning.
* At 11.5 feet... a few streets flood in Ravenswood.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Buck Creek at Acton.
* From Friday morning to Friday evening.
* At 12:00 PM Thursday the stage was 2.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Friday morning and continue to
rise to near 9.2 feet by Friday afternoon. It will fall below
flood stage by Friday afternoon.
* At 9.5 feet... flooding in progress along Buck Creek in Southeast
Marion and northwest Shelby counties. Flooding primarily affects
agricultural land and some recreational areas. Flooding of Shelby
CR 700n one quarter of a mile east of Shelby CR 875w may begin at
this level especially if Sugar Creek at New Palestine is 7 feet or
higher.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Ravenswood.
* From late Friday night to Sunday afternoon.
* There have been no observations in the last 24 hours.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it is forecast to rise above flood stage late Friday
night, crest at 6.7 feet Saturday afternoon, and then fall below
flood stage by late Saturday night.
* At 7.0 feet... water surrounds homes in River Edge estates. A few
streets flood in Ravenswood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Noblesville.
* From Friday evening to late Saturday night.
* At 9:45 am Wednesday the stage was 7.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Friday evening and continue to
rise to near 14.8 feet by late Friday night. It will fall below
flood stage by Saturday afternoon.
* At 14.5 feet... Edith Avenue begins to flood near the Potter bridge
area. Flooding begins in residential areas along east 116th street
in the Trails End area, along east 146th street, and sr 19 just
north of sr 32.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Indiana, east central Indiana, south
central Indiana, southwest Indiana, and west central Indiana,
including the following areas, in central Indiana, Boone,
Clinton, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Howard, Johnson,
Madison, Marion, Morgan, Shelby, and Tipton. In east central
Indiana, Delaware. In south central Indiana, Brown, Lawrence,
and Monroe. In southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene, Knox,
Martin, and Sullivan. In west central Indiana, Clay,
Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Putnam, and Vigo.

* Through Friday morning

* several rounds of showers and thunderstorms with heavy
rainfall at times will impact portions of central Indiana
through tonight. 2 to 3 inches of rain with locally higher
amounts are possible by Friday morning.

* The heavy rainfall will produce flooding in low lying and poor
drainage areas..and along area rivers and creeks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
